mml is a contemporary essentials brand which focuses on creating timeless clothing that lasts until 2050.

Caroline Booth created mml to encourage people to buy less, buy better and keep it for longer in an attempt to reduce waste within the fashion industry.

Throughout Caroline’s time at university she became growingly aware of the damage our throw away culture and the fast fashion industry has on the environment. It has become increasingly common to buy vast volumes of clothing, at unsustainably low prices, to only wear them a handful of times before throwing them away. Caroline’s aim was to create a solution by designing beautiful essentials that people want to wear again and again. The pieces have been carefully chosen and designed to remain timeless until 2050.

Working alongside  and  being sponsored by other creatives and brands who share similar values has been crucial in the creation of mml. Birkenstock and Memobottle both create products which are designed to stand the test of time and encourage reusing the same product and repairing when  damaged  instead  of disposing  of it.

‘There  is  a  stigma  surrounding  sustainable clothing which I wanted to change by creating a brand that is fun, quirky and  doesn’t take  itself too seriously.’

'What I want people to be able to do is to buy well, by first choosing well and then making it last. And I also believe that if everyone wore just a few beautiful things, there would not be such a climate change problem'
